Feminist Bird Club Atlanta Chapter - Sam's Club Ponds (behind the Decatur Sam's Club)

When: Sunday, May 25th 2025; meet at 9:30am, birding begins at 10am

Where: Atlanta Sam's Club #6643, 2901 A Clairmont Rd. Atlanta, GA 30329

Cost: FREE

Route: The walk begins to the left of the Sam's club building at the first retention pond. The route is short (less than 1mile) with little elevation change. Terrain includes paved parking lot, gravel/dirt paths, wide gravel driveways. There may be mud, dust, poison ivy and uneven ground. The route is quite exposed. Sun protection is advised.

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, snacks, binoculars (but we have plenty to lend), & guidebook (if you have them).

Accessibility: Mixed. The beginning of the route at the parking lot is accessible, but accessibility for wheelchairs beyond that point is unknown due to the possibility of uneven ground and rocky pathways.

Parking: Park anywhere in the Sam's Club lot.

Restrooms: Inside Sam's Club or other nearby businesses.
